Depression

I have made many mistakes in my life some of which have been worse than others. The worst things that have ever happened to me i would have to admit were my fault. almost all of '07 i was dealing with something very hard. what has this thing i was going through? depression. I have finally realised that it was simply a way of thinking and not dependent on other situations. If you have ever met me you would know that i am almost always happy, random, and hyper. that wasnt the case for a long while. I had started cutting and had almost killed myself at one point. i scared all my close friends (who care about me a lot). I know for a fact that many other people are either dealing w/ this or have in the past. many Christians i know have also had similar problems (though nowhere near my extent). so if anyone who reads this is dealing w/ depression, cutting, or suicidal thoughts i want you to know its not the way out. cutting is not going to help but it will trap you. it will become an addiction. i know this from experience. dont even start. it has the same effect as punching the wall when you are angry - it releases some of your frustration. but slowly you will want to bleed more to release your built up anger. it is destructive and usually leads to suicidal thoughts (if that didnt come first). just dont start cutting and if you are stop. and as for suicide. its THE most selfish thing you can do. its the same as refusing to let God use you (who by the way DIED for you). and juts imagine the gaping hole you would leave in your family's and friends hearts. if you are dealing with this you need to trust in God to help you out. its the only way. you cant get out of these problems by yourself you need God. let him use you. Romans 8:28 says- and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. as Christians we are ALL called according to His purpose. He will help us through the times when we cannot help ourselves.
